The Procurement Technical Assistance Program was established through the Department of Defense (DoD) and administered by the Defense Logistics Agency in an effort to increase government contract opportunities for small and large businesses. The DoD awards cooperative agreements to qualified organizations to establish and maintain Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs).
While centrally headquartered in Columbia, PTAC SC also has the capabilities to serve the entire Palmetto State. PTAC SC is a resource for small and large businesses to obtain procurement technical assistance. Procurement technical assistance focuses on providing professional, specialized assistance to clients, identifying potential government contractual opportunities and obtain or perform under contracts, counseling, mentoring, and marketing businesses to DoD and other federal/state/local government.
PTAC SC serves to promote South Carolina’s economic development by assisting companies focusing on providing products and/or services to the federal, state and local government. PTAC SC’s mission is to “Help businesses do business with government”, with concerted efforts to assist small businesses, such as Small Disadvantaged Business, Women-Owned Small Business, HUBZone Small Business, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business.
